SUMMARY:22LR Handgun Long Gong Challenge 50yd
DESCRIPTION:BRSP and ARC are pleased to announce a new handgun match coming to Birchwood. Handgun Long Gong is a 22LR handgun event shot 50 yards at a set of three gongs. 22LR handgun only\, revolver or semi-auto\, any sight without magnification. 50 rounds per match for score. Gong sizes are 8″\, 6″\, and 4″.  Each size gong has a different point value\, 1-3. Zero points for each miss.  All shooting is done standing\, two-handed from the firing line\, with no additional support. Each string the shooter has 3 minutes to shoot 10 rounds starting on the 8″ gong.  This time limit starts at the first shot.  The only way to move to the 6″ is to achieve a hit on the 8″.  Once the 8″ is hit\, the shooter earns one point and may remain on the 8″ or attempt the 6″.  If the shooter decides to attempt to shoot at the 6″ and hits\, the shooter earns two points and may move to the 4″. If the shot is a miss\, a zero for that shot is recorded on the scorecard and the shooter must move back to the 8″.  Long Gong is not an NRA or CMP event and is shot only for challenging fun and bragging rights. DESCRIPTION:Please come at 5pm if you can to help with setup! \nThis is a 30-round plus 5 sighters “across the course” rifle shoot on a lighted 100-yard range. Match follows the CMP As-Issued Military Rifle course of fire: 5 sighting shots\, 10 prone slow fire shots\, 10 prone rapid fire shots\, 10 standing slow fire shots. Sporting/hunting rifles will shoot 8 round strings or can shoot fewer rounds if you like. Pretty much any safe centerfire or rimfire rifle is fine to bring. CMP Achievement pins will be awarded to those who shoot minimum scores in their rifle category. \nNon BRSP Members welcome. Everyone must check in at the range office. You will pay the range $10 if you are a Birchwood Member. Non-BRSP members will pay the range $25.
